Lumberjack
3ds MaxAn advanced production-style rig: IK/FK on the limbs and spine, bendy limbs, squash and stretch, and roll, bank, tilt and twist controls throughout.
Full-figure rigs for weight, balance and force: jumps, lifts, climbs and combat.
Body mechanics is where the foundational exercises stop being separate problems and start arriving together. A jump is a bouncing ball with a skeleton attached to it. A lift is weight transfer with a second mass involved. A climb is contact, released and re-established, over and over. Nothing here is new, but all of it is simultaneous, and that is a different discipline from doing any one of it well.
What changes at this stage is the level of control the rig gives you. The foundational set was deliberately impoverished so that a student could not hide. These rigs are the opposite: they have enough controls to solve almost anything, which means the constraint moves from what the rig can do to whether you know what you are asking it for.
Both rigs here are free. Open the scene and the controls are ready.
They pair with the body mechanics tutorials, which work through retiming and cleanup on this kind of shot.

The same rig as in the foundational set, kept here because most body mechanics work starts on it.
